Gulnara Yamanbaeva studied biology and specialized in the physiology of humans and animals in Ufa, Russia. She obtained her Doctor of natural science (Dr.rer.nat.) degree at the University of Göttingen, Germany, examining the sensorineural mechanisms of sound encoding and perception. In 2019 she received the postdoctoral stipend at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, Germany, where she studied the structural, functional, and effective brain connectivity abnormalities of the patients with a brain tumor. Since 2020, she is a postdoc in the gut-brain project and investigates the effect of probiotic supplementation treatment on the brain connectivity of patients with major depressive disorder.
